Hermitage Denison Barracks
The Joint Aeronautical and Geospatial Organisation (JAGO) HQ is based at Denison Barracks, Hermitage.
JAGO comprises a headquarters and two units: 42 Engineer Regiment (Geographic) and No.1 Aeronautical Information and Documentation Unit (AIDU). JAGO role is to provide deployed geographic support, both in overseas theatres of operation and within the UK.
The Royal School of Military Survey (RSMS) is co-located with JAGO at Hermitage and operates under the command structure of Defence Intelligence Security Centre (DISC).
Hermitage and Curridge are small rural villages 1 mile from the junction of the M4 and M34. The nearest town is Newbury; 4 miles to the South. Excellent road links give easy access to Reading, London, Bristol, Oxford and the South coast.
The Unit has some very good sporting facilities including a gymnasium, squash courts, tennis courts and astro turf pitch. There is a library within the unit which provides internet access; internet access is also available in the HIVE. Many clubs have sessions in and around the unit including wargamers, arts and crafts and Brownies.
